I actually think CJ Wilson is the guy to have this year.
I've been dropping his name is all these stinkin' threads...you on board with me?
Not that you didn't already have him in your sights. I just seem to be the only person touting him around here. I didn't feel comfortable mentioning his name until I snagged him in my last cafe league about a week ago.

I even made a "bold prediction" in the prediction forum about him...not really that bold, but anyway...
He has really good stuff and has had a nice spring. I'm a fan.

i can't bring myself to own a Texas Pitcher.
I'd rather take a gamble on Snell/Fister (sea) or Olsen (was) for some reason.

Couldn't agree more...I don't care what upside these pitchers have, they are pitching for Texas. Won't be owning any of them.

That's what they used to say about Colorado. Anyway, stay away from him then...I was only trying to help.

The guy has a career 53% GB rate (never been below 49%), made huge strides last season when he added a cutter to his arsenal and threw his slider more (K rate went up to 10+ K/9)...had an inflated whip due to a .337 BABIP. Regularly stays around 94-95 on the gun...he dominated at home last season (albeit in a small sample size). Even if you just spot start him on the road he still holds value IMO...not many starters can give you 8+K/9 and have 3.50 era potential when you're making the last pick of the draft.

It looks like Eveland has landed the Jays 5th starter job, at least for now (with Cecil getting optioned). Apparently Tallet is the #2 guy as well, which I just don't get, but whatever. Now we get to see if Eveland can carry any of his ratio and SO improvements into the regular season.

Not that he's made it past the 'watch list' phase, but at least he's got a regular gig.

I was actually just going to bring up Dana Eveland, he's been pretty dominate this spring. He had promise coming into the league, he's someone to atleast keep an eye on.
