I have a couple of SP on the Dl for the first month (Dice K and Webb) and need to pick up a SP or two and was wondering who some of you Cafe people think are some guys who will be in the rotation to begin the season with a lot of upside. I know these guys will be a stretch, but I just need someone for the next month and if they breakout then great!
I can grab Saunders or Marquis, but I am looking for someone who has some upside be it a young guy or a pitcher who hasn't reached their potential...
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...
Homer Bailey, Justin Masterson, Fausto Carmona, Daniel McCutchen, Luke Hochevar deep enough? Travis Wood could be a good sleeper also if he wins the #5 job.
Not sure how much of a sleeper he is, but I am rolling the dice on Ian Kennedy this year. By no means is he in my starting rotation, but rather he is my seventh arm that I hope will develop into a nice 4/5 when match-ups are right. I think he should do well pitching against the mediocre NL West and think he is worth a look depending on league depth and starting requirements. -Good luck
Bud Norris, Marc Rzepczynski, Ian Kennedy, Shaun Marcum. Zito was also sneaky good in the second half of '09, with 2.83/1.29 ratios and 74 K in 86 IP for his last 15 starts.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
I also like Ian Kennedy. And Jason Hammel. And Andy Pettitte (doesn't fit your description but always drafted late). And Brian Matusz. And maybe Big Pelph?
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!
