Need to get an upper level pitcher, but how? WHIR!!!!

Postby midwestpatsfan » Mon Mar 29, 2010 9:46 am

This is an 8 team, 10x9 roto style league. Pitching went insanely early(Halladay went before Pujols! Lincecum and Grienke in the 1st. CC, Haren, Verlander, and Wainwright in the 2nd and Felix, Johnson, Lester, and Santana before my pick in the 3rd.) so I missed out on all the top tier guys. I am stacked at OF but not sure who to try and trade and for what top tier pitcher. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will help in return for anyone and everyone who asks.

thx for the help in mine. We are in the same boat. I think your pitching is ok though.

Lee, Nolasco, Wandy, Weaver, Scherzer are not bad players plus it is just too hard to pass up on an elite hitter when they are still available. I worry about Lee but think Nolasco and Wandy are good tier 2 SP. If you must trade then yes def trade an OF, or Sandoval. You are not going to get into the top tier but you should be able to target a Lester, Jiminez, Kershaw (high on him) or maybe even Wainwright.

I'd try to move any of the following:

Pablo Sandoval- You have better players at 1B/3B, and I don't think he'll quite live up to expectations this year. Odds are someone in your league loves this guy.
Jayson Werth- Another guy you can probably fetch top dollar for. Could put up solid numbers, but don't forget he was a journeyman nobody for a long time before suddenly discovering his swing.

I don't think you need a Top SP at all. You have a decent staff. Like Wyld mentioned, I think a tier 2 pitcher would be a good move. This way your offence doesn't take a big hit. I too, would shop SAndoval around.

I can't belive Halladay went before Pujols in your league. X-I

Assuming this is a redraft league, right?
Starting Positions? Do you start any UTs?

Off the top of my head, your team screams for Mauer.
Does that team need an OF?

Otherwise, I like your pitching just fine for all cats but CG and SHO and there aren't very many SPs who will do that anymore period, like Halladay.

Help me too? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=405725&p=3232448#p3232448
