Question from a new commissioner

Postby BuckyDent » Sun Mar 28, 2010 4:45 pm

Excuse my ignorance but this is my first year as a Commissioner on CBS Sports. I've entered the teams manually after an in-person draft and it appears ready to go but the other owners are not able to set their lineups, add/drop, etc. They get a message that the Commissioner has not enabled this function but I do not know how.

The waivers process begins tonight. Does that have anything to do with it? I would assume at the minimum owners could have already set their lineups with the players drafted.

Thanks for any help.

Have you marked the draft as complete. Try this advice: Go to the setup draft and rosters page and click the link at the bottom of the page that reads "mark draft as completed".
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

I think I marked it complete when I initially finished the draft. "Mark Draft As Completed" does not appear at the end of the Setup / Draft & Rosters page for me. The links at the bottom are only: "Set Keeper Policy", "Delete All Rosters (non-keeper leagues only)", "Copy Rosters Back", "Clear Free Agent Salaries and Wildcards", "Set Draft Order", and "Reset Draft"

When I relaunch the Draft Entry Tool, it does say "Completed" at the very top.

Thank you for the suggestion. Any other ideas?

Go to your league homepage
click on "setup"
click on League Rules
on toolbar click on "transactions"
go to lineup policy and choose option you want while your there check other options especially waiver policy
good luck

What's strange is that I have "Allow owners to set lineups and change positions" but my owners still can't change their teams at all. That is the right location so thank you but still no luck. I found a phone number that CBS Sports gives for help to first year commissioners only. I will try that tomorrow.

You can also send them an email via their Help. They're pretty good about getting back quickly.

ok jhere the other answer probably previous commisioner locked out owners once play offs started or season ended

go to set up
team owners at bottom of page click on team owners permissions
that takes you to page you need

I finally resolved this issue! The guy at CBS Sports who I called knew what the problem was right away (it's apparently a common problem):

I mistakingly thought if I checked the boxes under Setup / Teams and Owners / Restrict Team Owners Permission, that it gives the owners permission. However, only an unchecked box gives someone permission. I simply removed the checked boxes and everyone gained access right away.

This seems inconsistent with the line right above the permission boxes where you need to check the box in order to give the team owner permission to change the name of his team. Very inconsistent.

I want to thank everyone for the help and the ideas. If anyone else had this problem hopefully reading this helped you out!
