Hamels/Lind for Sabathia/Adam Jones...100% WHIR

Postby philaphan » Sun Mar 28, 2010 12:18 pm

I had a few offers fall through yesterday. Heyward for Adam Jones fell through before I could except it.

Now I have this offer on the table and the other owner said he needs an answer by tonight....

HIS: Hamels/Lind
for
MY: Sabathia/Adam Jones

My feeling is that losing Sabathia hurts my team pitching more than Lind helps my hitting. Is this the right theory? Should I pull the trigger on this or stand pat on this offer?

Below is my team

I'd take a shot at this one Hamel is going to have a bounce back year. I've watched him a lot this spring and his veloocity his back in the mid 90s and he has added a slider as his third pitch. Lind is a legit #1 Outfielder.

Tough one... In your spot, I woudl keep CC. I think you'll miss his pitching more than Lind's offense.

I updated my post. LEND YOUR INPUT TO MY POST.

CC is obviously a tier above Hamels, even with a bounceback from Hamels.
Lind is coming off a career year, and while I like him, I believe he is playing over his head. You would be buying him at absolute peak value. Jones on the other hand was quiet at the end of the year, and is poised for a big breakout year.

I would not do this trade, and it is not really too close IMO.

I'd keep the CC/Jones side myself.

Thanks for the help on mine. If you want, take a peek again to see how my draft went.

Stand pat - I think your feeling is the correct one...

I'm a Phillies fan, and even if Hamels bounces back, his ceiling is just a little higher than Sabathia's floor.
Also, Lind can only go down (right???) whereas Adam Jones is on the rise

I would stick with what you got.

Help with mine?
