Huge Heyward Trade!!!

Postby rasto21585 » Sat Mar 27, 2010 2:09 pm

I was offered ryan zimmerman and aj burnett for heyward and king felix. My gut feeling says I should counter this trade. What ya think? Both our teams are below. On a side note I was also offered lincecum for my heyward and bret anderson. Damn so much love for heyward. I love it!!!!

That first deal is a hell no from me - from a value standpoint you're essentially trading Burnett for Heyward. Would you accept Burnett for Heyward straight up? Me neither. I'd probably take the Linecum deal though, maybe with a counter for a second piece coming back (someone small but useful)

Is this a keeper league or not btw?

Dynasty you say ... hmmm. Yeah, try to get a second piece coming back. A prospect of some sort anyway. Remind him that you're trading away a lot of future returns. :-D It sort of depends on what he has rostered I guess. What else does the linecum team have in the ay of small pieces that you might enjoy owning?

I'm sorry but if the Lincy owner is for real then give me Lincecum ALL DAY in that deal. Remember yes Heyward has some sweet stats in the minors, but lets not overlook the Franny talk up a few years back about him 'being the next greatest thing' and 'will anyone ever have as much to offer at the plate as he does'. Heyward has been talked up to a big game, but is yet to ACTUALLY prove it on the biggest of stages for a whole year. Lincecum on the other hand is hands down the best pitcher in the majors, and hell hes still only 25 just turning 26 in June. Not like hes running out of gas or anything for years to come. You NEVER know whats going to happen in fantasy sports, especially with Dynasty leagues (had one that i was in for 6 years and starting the 7th disgruntled owners that traded away future players and then had crap were fed up and leaving, so we scratched the whole thing and redrafted) you just never know, so play for THIS year and have him chip in a small future piece with it.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't have even thought twice about sending Heyward and ANY starter on the A's roster for Lincy out right, and if he would toss in a small future piece then its just icing on the cake. I mean hell look at your rotation if you add Lincy, my god Lincy, Felix, Kershaw, Tillman, Porcello thats great for years to come. Plus you have a surplus of young skilled OFers anyways, at this point and time I'd rank McCutch, Rasmus, Reimold and even the POWER bat of Blanks ahead of Heyward and they are all still way young... DO the Lincy deal...

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...
