Heyward for Adam Jones....100% WHIR

Postby philaphan » Sat Mar 27, 2010 11:28 am

New offer just sent to me

REDRAFT!

HIS: Heyward
for
MY: Adam Jones

Do I buy into the hype or is Heyward 1 year away. I know what I should get from Jones 275avg, 80-90R, 18-22HR, 75-85RBI, 10-15SB. Would I get that with Heyward with the possibility of more? Or stand pat with Jones who is more of a known with Heyward being 1 yr away from being a star?

Advices please? 100% WHIR

Here is my roster:
10 Team Head2Head 5X5 REDRAFT
C:Napoli
1b:Howard
2b:Cano
3b:Zimmerman
SS:Tulo
OF:Bay, C. Lee, Adam Jomes
Util:Hunter
BN: McLouth, Prado, A. LaRoche, Rajai Davis
SP: Sabathia, Jimenez
RP: Soria, Soriano
SP/RP: Peavy, Shields,Floyd
BN: Cueto, J. Sanchez, Blanton

Without a doubt you do this. Jones, while good, is a bit overrated. Heyward should be just as good THIS year and plays in a better lineup.

I like the deal. In the end, I think they post similar stats, but I think that Heyward has a better chance to approach .300. What really put this over the top is the fact that Heyward has been relatively healthy which Jones has missed significant time the past two seasons. If Heyward get off to a hot start, his trade value will likely skyrocket over his real value and you could probably net a nice young, surer thing to boot.

I like what the above poster said about Heyward's trade value if he starts out hot. It's very true.

I have a feeling they will be pretty close at years end, but Heyward has more upside. I think you should get Heyward.

Shameless Bump

Want to see what others think of this? Buy the hype of Heyward this year in a redraft? I know the guy has talent but not sure if I should be buying right now on this?

I think that you will get similar results from Heyward and when he struggles you can put McClouth into your lineup and again get about the same results. Once Heyward gets hot filp him. You may be able to get a better deal before the season even starts, everyone is all over him now.

I'd do the deal and sell Heyward when he's on a hot streak. People will give up way too much for good prospects.

even in a redraft league, i STILL do this trade. There are a lot of players similar to Jones...maybe Heyward will be, BUT I think Heyward has the potential to be something special, so I'd take the chance on him

I say do it

thanks for helping with mine

I don't think you are overspending. Seems adequate price. I agree there is much hype, but he seems to be pulling his weight at same time.

I'd likely entertain and accept the offer.
