#1 pick; Keeper league

Postby ajbubs » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:57 pm

The league is a 16 team roto league. It uses obp instead of avg and uses Lf, Rf, Cf instead of Of, but other than that there are standard stats. There are 10 keepers per team. Players can only be kept up to 4 years and then they become FA's. Here are mine:

Cruz, Nelson Rf
Davis, Christopher 1b,3b
Haren, Dan
Jones, Andruw (guranteed contract)
Reyes, Jose ss (guranteed contract)
Sabathia, C.c.
Scherzer, Max
Uggla, Dan 2b
Wells, Vernon cf (guranteed contract)
Zambrano, Carlos (guranteed contract)

The best players available: Kendry Morales, Chone Figgins, Julio Borbon, Matt Cain, Jason Kubel.
Should I go w/ one of these guys or draft Heyward or Strausburg?

I like Morales out of those guys, then I would really consider Strasburg or Heyward.

I like Kendry here, too.

Strasburg is an unknown at this point, he's a college kid with filthy stuff and a truckload of hype, and so was Mark Prior once...

Don't get me wrong, Strasburg should be a stud, but you know what you're getting with Kendry here. Strasburg has potential to be top ten at his position, but Morales already is, and he might not have peaked yet.

that's the thing. Do I really know what I'm getting w/ Morales? I've read a few articles on him that say don't pay for last year's numbers for several reasons. However, he'll be turning 27 this year and he has already put up the numbers where as Heyward has not. Both guys I will have for 4 years. I also already have a Rf in Cruz.
