Trade Carlos Lee for Cole Hamels? WHIR

Postby Leiter Fan » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:22 pm

I play in a 6x6, H 2 H daily transaction keeper league that counts OPS and holds, and which has individualized outfield positions. I am looking to acquire Cole Hamels from another manger who does not have much power on his team but has an overabundance of starting pitching (he has put Hamels, Peavy and Marcum on the trading block, asking for a power hitting LF or RF in return). I offered him Carlos Quentin for Hamels, but he turned it down.

Am I giving up too much if I offer him Carlos Lee instead?

As always, I'll answer any of yours in return - just post a link.

Here is my current roster:

C: Geovany Soto (C)
1B: Miguel Cabrera (1B)
2B: Aaron Hill (2B)
3B: Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
SS: Stephen Drew (SS)
LF: Carlos Lee (LF)
CF: Grady Sizemore (CF)
RF: Jason Heyward (RF)
Util: Carlos Quentin (LF)
Bench: Nyjer Morgan (LF, CF)
Asdrubal Cabrera (2B, SS)
Mark DeRosa (1B, 3B, LF, RF)
SP: Chris Carpenter, Tommy Hanson, Ricky Porcello, Ervin Santana, Francisco Liriano, Ben Sheets
RP: Mariano Rivera, Joakim Soria, Leo Nunez, Fernando Rodney

Thanks, guys!

Two things to start this....one, I've never been a fan of Carlos Lee. Two, I'm a Phillies fan. I've watched the Phillies spring training and read just about everything I can on the topic and everyone seems to think (including myself) that Hamels is poised for a huge bounce back year. Also, I feel like Carlos Lee is one doughnut away from straining his back.
I say throw it out there and see what he thinks...

Help?

Thanks!

Any other thoughts on this?

Do it. Hamels will bounce back, and many analyst see Lee going downhill.

I actually traded Quentin for Chad Bllingsley last week instead (this was a post of mine from over a week ago). Thanks anyway though.
