Keeper help (WHIR)

Postby flyfishwa » Fri Mar 26, 2010 3:01 pm

Our league uses current values for keepers, and we are using ESPN. It's a 5x5 H2H league with 16 teams. Our draft will be an auction.

I am leaning toward keeping:
Hanley Ramirez $33
Matt Kemp $29
Dan Haren $20

I also have these interesting players:
Ian Kinsler $23
Andre Ethier $16
Jayson Werth $18
Kevin Youkilis $18
Javier Vazquez $14
Heath Bell $11

I could go with someone else in a scarce position instead of Haren, but want to make sure I have a good pitcher as well, and I'm sure the auction value would be higher for him than that price. Any thoughts?

Ian Kinsler @ $23 sounds better than Haren to me.

That was my thought, do I spend on hitters in scarce positions, or nail down my ace pitcher? Anyone else have an opinion on this?

Thanks in advance...

I'm also considering Ramirez, Kinsler, and Youkilis and not keeping Kemp. The only problem is if the auction values on stud outfielders drive up the cost past my replacement of Kemp. I would be able to spend $25-30 for my frontline outfielder if that was the case. Is it better to fill that 3rd base slot, or keep Kemp, who is a fantasy stud?

Definitely a tough choice. I would agree with the past post and go Kinsler over Haren (just way too shaky in the 2nd half). But wow, that is quite a crew that you have to decide between. Because of value, I would go HanRam, Kinsler, and Werth (save $7)
