Help me rank pitchers, WHIR

Postby oldmanbean » Thu Mar 25, 2010 10:14 am

I have divided the picthers available for our draft this Sunday into tiers. It does not mean round, or value, but that I would take my first picther from tier 1, second from tier 2, etc, unless of course there were some left from the higher tier. may not happen, as OF is my first priority.

So, if you can see anyone that should be moved up or down I would appreciate your input.

Tier 1: Bills, Weaver, Burnett, Oswalt

Tier 2: Shields, Baker, Zambrano, Hudson

Tier 3: Floyd, Matusz, Niemann, Anderson, Harden

Tier 4: Liriano, DeLaRosa, Penny, Pavano, Chapman

the rest: Saunders, Penny, Kennedy, Carmona, Feldman, H Bailey, R Ortiz, D Davis, Marcum, Wells, Sheets

TIA

I like it and agree with it except for Brett Anderson. I would move him into the first tier. A lot of people expect him to be an ace this year. I like him a lot better than Hudson, Zambrano, Burnett, Weaver.

Help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=404804

Anderson is a legit tier 1 pitcher. Liriano is also worth a reach in that top tier as well. Oswalt and Burnett should go down a tier. Floyd up a tier and same for De La Rosa (in fact, I'd hazard to say he belongs in tier 2).

Thanks guys ... now the big question, how do you rank the 1st tier??

in alpha order: Anderson, Bills, DeLaRosa, Liriano, Weaver

IMO the first 2 drafted will be Burnett and Weaver/

For your 1st question; I agree with the majority, but think that Liriano is a tweener between 1&2. I'd rank him below Shields (only because I'm not sure how he's going to fare coming back from the injury), but above Oswalt, Burnett and the rest.

As far as the 2nd question, I'd rank them:

Bills
Anderson
Weaver

Shields
Liriano (would rank him above Weaver if he showed consistent health)
Oswalt
Baker
Burnett
De La Rosa (like his K's, but has awful command & is very inconsistent)

please help with mine:

Of those:

Billingsley
Anderson

Liriano
Weaver

De La Rosa

De La Rosa as a tier 1 is a big stretch, imo. I'd at least put Harden, Matusz, Zambrano, and Baker ahead of him (in no particular order).
