This is my first baseball draft but I've played basketball rotos and won before.
Rules ROTO 13 team/ 10 cats
BA/HR/NET STL/TRBL(w+2b+3b)/R - Hitters
W/K/ERA/WHIP/S - Pitchers
Players values depends on the cats they're playing in. My hitters cats are not standard because they replaced TRBL with RBI and STL with net stls. Obviously I cant draft based on the rankings that the forum people assemble.
My option
Go to baseballmonster.com to do a projection based on these 10 cats. Hanely has fell to 11th ranked instead of the top 5 in normal cats. Should I still pick Hanley at number 2 when I know that there is 10 guys that will outplay him during the season? I need advices on playing in NON standard Cats.
How safe is the PROJECTIONS rank at baseballmonster.com with custom cats?

My advice is to keep this simple. With those different categories, I would not worry about where Ramirez fell to. Do some research and find out who in the top ten or fifteen ranked players has 1) best OPS and 2) Most Extra base hits. These stats help in any league, but will be more indicative of your players' success.
Rememebr to just make the solid pick with the most upisde in the first round...don't out think yourself

Best of luck

Well obviously take the projections from Baseball Monster with a grain of salt. See if they are projecting someone differently then the majority of places. Also, yes those players will outperform Hanley, but if you look at the top 10 there are like 5 1B. The reason Hanley is so valuable is because he gives you top 10 numbers from a position that as shallow as SS.
