How long to leave a trade pending?

I am the commissioner of a league that just drafted a couple of days ago. I just made a trade with someone else in the league, and was just wondering how long I should leave it pending for the league to see... When can I confirm the trade?

It depends. I usually set it at 1or 2 days. But alot goes into it

Is this a daily lineup league. If it is a weekly lineup league, there may be alot more managers who "set it and forget it" and don't check the league every day.

Also this is preseason so there may be a few managers who are really not intensely checking the league.

Basically you want to make it so that the average active manager in your league will be able to review it.

Why not send an email to everyone in the league on trades. They should be checking their email everyday. If not shame on them. I would think two days is plenty of time for someone to complain about the trade. I have been running a league for 20 years and we are still wanting on the first trade protest.

So one change I made in my league a few years ago was this: if my league is set for X days for trade review, I'm no longer willing to "fast track" a trade and approve it prior to that deadline. There were two major reasons for this:
1) I don't want to deal with this drama the first time somebody protests a trade after I've approved it but before the scheduled trade review period would have ended.
2) I don't want to deal with the headache of "Why did you fast track HIS trade and not MY trade?? Now I missed today's game!!" ... "Because I was having my appendix removed", "Because I was in an 8 hour meeting", etc. etc.

This way it is entirely predictable and nobody in the league can be surprised or claim that I was biased.
