Big Keeper Trade- Braun, Upton, Kemp- WHIR

Postby adq64535 » Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:58 pm

12 team h2h league with standard scoring except obp and slg instead of avg and hrs. Each team keeps 4 (bumped to 6 next year)

my potential keepers right now are:
Braun
sizemore
Phillips
BJ upton
Lind
berkman
Josh Johnson

I've been offered a trade.

I get- Justin upton and kemp
I give up- Braun, a 4th rd pick (8th) and a 9th rd pick (13th)

1. Do I make the trade?
2. Depending on answer to 1, who do I keep

This is interesting. I would probably do it. As great as Braun is you get two VERY good players, and possibly the numbers 2 and 3. I just don't know who you pick after this trade, but you could probably package a couple other keepers and pick up another great one. I say do it.

mine?

Limited keepers, you are giving up the best keeper. I would pass.

Right now, your keepers are Braun, Sizemore, Phillips and Johnson. If you make the trade, you replace Braun with Kemp and Sizemore or Phillips with Upton - not worth it to me. What I'd like to see you get if you moved Braun would be Kemp + an INF keeper

I like this trade for you. Yes, you're trading away Braun, but I don't think Upton putting up Braun's numbers in the next couple years is out of the question (excluding average).
So... I'd keep Upton, Kemp, Sizemore, and J Johnson. You'll never have to worry about drafting an outfielder again.

I forgot, I also have Zimmerman. Should I keep him or Johnson? And no love for B.J. Upton? Or is keeping 4 outfielders too much?

Forget Johnson - keep Zimmerman. Do the trade. How many OFs do you start? If you start 5, then do the deal in a heartbeat. Even if you only start 3 OFs, I would still do this. You are going to get 50 HRs, 200 RBIs, 200 Rs, 50 SBs, and a .280 AVG. Do it and don't look back.
