My McCutchen and Porcello for Sizemore and Buehrle (WHIR)

Postby sigriffey » Tue Mar 23, 2010 2:47 am

Do I deal my Andrew McCutchen and Rick Porcello for Grady Sizemore and Mark Buehrle?

I want to up my power a bit, but I worry that McCutchen is a big piece to give up, especially in a keeper. Then again, Sizemore is a nice find too.

Thoughts based on my roster below?

12 Team H2H League with 6 keepers.

9 x 9 categories (R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG -- IP, CG, W, L, ER, ERA, K, SV, WHIP)

MY TEAM:

C Geovany Soto
1B Albert Pujols
2B Chase Utley
3B Alex Rodriguez
SS Jason Bartlett
OF Jason Bay
OF Andrew McCutchen
OF Carlos Gonzalez
UT Rajai Davis
UT Magglio Ordonez
UT James Loney
BN Dexter Fowler
BN Travis Snider
BN Jhonny Peralta

SP Roy Halladay
SP Zach Greinke
SP CC Sabathia
SP Rick Porcello
SP Jorge De La Rosa

I like it for you, i think Sizemore will continue to be better then McCutchen, especially if you need more power. Buehrle isn't that huge a dropoff from Porcello for this season, you have a good pitching staff already.

I do like this deal - I worry a bit about the pitcher swap in a keeper as I like Porcello and am not high on Buehrle repeating last year, but I think Sizemore is a big addtion so I'd do it. Just see if you can do some finagling on the pitchers before you say yes. :)

Help if you can?

If you only keep six players, I have a hard time seeing how any of the players involved in the trade could be a potential keeper (maybe Sizemore if he regains his form, but you have Pujols, Utley, Arod, Halladay, Greinke, and CC...). Oh, and I would pull the trigger on the deal without a doubt.

I should mention that the following players have been keepers for 2 years and MUST go back into the draft after 2010:

Pujols
Utley
A-Rod
Sabathia
Halladay

does that change anyone's thinking?

Sizemore and Buehrle all the way for me. You're also getting Sizemore at a discount based on his production last year due to injury. He should be over that now and this deal will look great later on IMO.

Please see mine.
