I don't like it. You are giving up too much. Hold onto Kemp. I wouldn't even trade him for Lincecum.

Okay, I wasn't expecting that answer - in our league Lincecum is projected to score 665 points to Kemps 513.5 so I'm pretty surprised to hear that....any chance you can give a more indepth answer, I would love to hear your thoughts?

Having the scoring system helps, but I also side on keeping Kemp, though I know some scoring systems favour pitchers. I for one just do not see Greinke holding it together as he did last year. Good just not great. Keeping Kemp is safer.

Lend your Cafe opinion to me.

I concur, prefer Kemp over Greinke. Having your scoring and lineup rules would help. Is this a weekly or daily lineup? How many SP do you start each week?

5 starting pitchers, and it's weekly starts (also start two RP)

hitter stats - single (1), double (2), triple (3), HR (4), RBI (1), walks (1), steals (2), runs (1), caught stealing (-1), KO (-0.5)

pitcher stats - walks, ER, hit batter, hit allowed (-1), loss (-5), KO (0.5), Quality start (3), Win (3), Save (3), each out in an inning is worth (1)

also if Kemp isnt the right guy to trade, who should I be looking at...I think Tulo for sure but who else? Who should I be targeting....my pitching situation seems pretty bad but I'm not sure where to go from here

On the surface, Greinke's projected point total of 559 looks good compared to Kemp's 513, a difference of 46 points for the season, or 1.8 points per week. However, When you look at their 2009 totals, you'll see why every one, myself included, doesn't like this trade. In '09, Greinkie had 12 weeks where he scored 25 or more points and Kemp had 11 week, so in this respect they were similar. But in '09 Kemp had 4 week where he scored 14 points or less and Greinke had 10 weeks where he scored 14 points or less, which isn't very close. In points league, pitchers will never be as consistent week in and week out as hitters, and your trying to win each week, not get the biggest point total at the end of the year. That's why CBS has Lincecum ranked 19th even though they project him to score the second most points in their scoring system.

To answer you latest question, I would not trade Tulo or any of you starters for any pitcher except Stewart. The reason why is because your league is so shallow any player off you beach or the WW is a significant downgrade from your starter, again except for Stewart. If you really want to upgrade your SP, I recommend dropping Nathan, who's surgery is scheduled for Friday, for the best SP on the WW. Then if you want to do more, trade Ramierez, Jones, or Soriano for a Shields or Burnett type pitcher. This would give you two pitchers who would give you the same amount of points as Greinke as a minimum, possibly more, and you would get to keep your starting lineup (which is great) intact. Sorry for the novel. :-]
