Absolutely. As I mentioned earlier, he could be a very cheap source of saves after the trade deadline. He's got the making to be one of those guys that everyone overvalues next year (think Anderson/McCutchen). Fair warning in advance, he's struggled against lefties (.285 BA/.365 OBP/.423 SLG) , and he hasn't had the best success on the road. However, having said that I think the rewards far outweigh the risk as before getting called up to the show, his highest level was AA closer.

thanks for the advice guys i really appreciate it. i just have one more name to throw at ya. its John Grabow the cubs setup man. the reason he caught my interest is because i already have carlos marmol on my team. what do you think of him?

Can't really go wrong with a handcuff. Grabow is a candidate for cheap saves too, but I think that if your thinking marmol will lose his job, you're reaching a little. The one thing that jumps off the page about Grabow is his elevated walk rate (4.15 per nine in his career).

Bottom line, you really don't need to worry about it too much. Select a guy you like, whom you think has good stuff. Holds come a dime a dozen all season long on the wavier wire. In fact the only real advantage of adding a setup man this early would be to try and vulture a few cheap saves (think perez/morales/cordero/gregerson/etc).
