He definitely has the stuff, it just comes down to whether Francona uses him in most of the 8th inning situations to get lots of holds.

I'd rather pickup either Saito or Coffey... I don't think Francona is gonna use Bard in the 8th inning a lot, rather sticking with Okajima

I'm not sure if he's available or not, as he's not on your list, but a name you need to be aware of in the holds department this year is Luke Gregerson. He's an almost absolute lock to pitch in the 7th to begin the year, and take over the 8th inning role shortly after. The kid's slider is one of the filthiest I've ever seen. Not to mention if the Padres deal Bell (more of a when than an if at this point it seems like), Luke would more than likely become the padres new closer.

Now for your list, bard is a solid option. He's the stereotypical flame thrower though, good when he's on...terrible when he's not. For that reason, I think Terry will go with another option for the 8th inning, which could possibly be okajima. Personally, I'd go with either Coffey or Saito though. Not sure what type of scoring your league offers, but Coffey is a solid choice for ERA,WHIP,and K/BB as well.

affeldt and sherrill

we use holds too and from experience with this cat, these are some of the easiest stats to find throughout the year (in my league at least). The trick is finding the holds that turn into saves but still having someone score holds for you.
