Just finished watching all 41 episodes of this show in about three weeks. Pretty good. I particularly liked this week's episode, too. Finally getting some background on Gus was very important.

1. This week's episode was amazing. 2. I just found out that the show has been cancelled. Got renewed for 16 more episodes, and that's it.
was it canceled or did they just decide to end it? i'd rather see it wrap up and go out on top rather than drag on needlessly some of the best shows in history (Wire, Sopranos, Six Feet) all had similar length runs
dont get me wrong, it sucks loosing a great show with all the crap on TV, but i'd rather it end than drag on

Yeah, canceled isn't really the right word. It was the same situation as LOST. The creator wanted an end-date so he didn't have to drag the show out longer than he had material for.

Ah, ok. First instinct was naturally some kind of dispute somewhere. 16 episodes sounds longer than a regular season so I'll be curious whether we get that lump sum or it gets split up. Either way, even after 5 years, I know I'll likely still want more Breaking Bad.
In the last episode, found it interesting the parallel the writers are doing. Walt and Jesse are an unlikely committed partnership much like what Gus and his partner were so is this perhaps the reason why Gus has taken such an interest in Jesse and, thus, wants to see if he can pry him away from Walt? As a sidenote, I wonder if Mike ever starts wondering about his job security due to the possible rising apprentice.
If they're out of material and getting toward the end that they envisioned, I'm fine with it ending. I'd rather they know well in advance so they don't have to rush to a finale. They really can't go much further with it without getting ridiculous.
