Killer Keeper ? - Hamilton, Quentin, Mccutchen - Round Loss

Postby Nyger Morgan MD » Sun Mar 21, 2010 5:28 pm

10 team mixed 3 year keeper league. Third year. We get to keep 5 guys each year, from their original draft position. Need help on the last spot:

1. Upton (16th round, year 3)
2. Kemp (12th round, year 3)
3. Longoria (21st round, year 3)
4. Hill (25th round, year 2)

and either

Hamilton (15th round, year 3)
Quentin (25th round, year 3)
Mccutchen (25th round, year 3)

Who should the last spot be?

Thanks,

I like McCutch now...and he'll only get better with more protection from Alvarez in the future.

If you don't keep Hill, what other 2B are out there to keep Quentin instead? Beckham will be at 2B for the Sox and is going to be really good....or you can get cheap homers from a Dan Uggla.

McCutchen is the easy choice.

I think Mccutchen is in for a really solid year, therefore I would choose him. But I agree with the all the other picks in the sense that you could find a better second basemen than hill, or drop him completely and keep Quentin.

I do like Mccutchen, but there is tons of speed in the outfield this year that can be found later. There aren't many 35-40 home run studs though and although Hamilton and Quentin are injury prone they are definitely capable of doing so.

I'm a hill believer. Numbers will regress but only because he might not get 680 at bats again. Thanks for the replies. Hamilton has been mashing during spring, and is a former 1st overall so if healthy could be a first rounder, Quentin gives you 35 + Bombs with 100 rbi's and a decent average and mccutchen has upside but has one year under his belt. The biggest factor with Hamilton being discounted is his 16th round cost compared to Quentin's 25th and Mccutchen's 25th, but I for sure want Hill's 25th round when he is going 4th-7th round for a 2nd basemen.

You can keep McCutchen and Quentin for 3 years and Hill for 2? If that's right, then it's an easy decision to keep Cutch/Quentin.

Hamilton and Quentin are in their last year as potential keepers. Mccutchen and Hill are in year 2 of three.
