Werth or Markakis WHIR

Postby Ravens Black » Sun Mar 21, 2010 2:55 pm

I am the first pick in a standard roto 5x5, 8 team league (snake draft). My infield is set with my keepers as well as my Ace (Lincecum). I need to address OF right away. Here is whos out there to pick.

Markakis
Werth
Choo
BJ Upton
Lind
Abreu
Cruz
Bay
McCuthchen
C. Lee
Eithier
Hamilton

Anyone else isn't worth mentioning. For kicks A-Gon, Morneau, Victor & CC are out there to and I do still need a catcher but am hoping to get Wieters on the comeback.

I'd take either Werth or AGon (for util or trade bait). Hell, I'd put Markakis as maybe 5th best out of that lot, if not worse.

Agreed. I was thinking Lind, AGonz, and Lee over Markakis.

I'd rank them Gonzo, CC, Werth, and then Upton. Markakis just doesn't interest me

Wow. Not alot of Nick Markakis fans here. I'll prob go Werth but Nick is a perennial .300 avg to Werth's .270. Werth hits more dongs though. Markakis could easily steal as many bags as Werth but I do think im going Werth.

I have Votto at first so outside of Dh I dont really need AGon.

You can find two to three catagory guys all day long. And thats just what Markakis is. More on the two side. Markakis, BJ and Rios . All in the same league. OVER RATED

Werth is my play here. I'm with the poster above but not as strongly. Markakis is a bit overrated IMO as people expect him to improve upon his numbers but he really hasn't shown 25+ HR power or to be a significant factor in sb. He's still solid though but won't have as big an impact on as many cats as Werth.
