Keeper advice (Need one)

Postby WakaJawaka » Sun Mar 21, 2010 10:53 am

I need one keeper from the following list. The number after the name is the round that they would count against in a 22 round, 5x5 roto league. We can keep these players for up to three years and this is the first year.

Chase Utley - 2
Evan Longoria - 2
Pablo Sandoval - 12
Ben Zobrist - 18
Matt Holliday - 4
Carlos Gonzalez - 18
Nelson Cruz - 17
Brett Anderson - 18
Felix Hernandez - 9

I have the first pick, so taking Utley at the end of the 2nd round looks like a great value to me, though so do Zobrist and Hernandez. Thoughts?

Is the difference in Utley and Zobrist really so great that Zobrist in the 18th isn't a better value?

It's a tough call, but I would say that Utley has more of a proven track record... you could also make a case for Longoria too. Then try to target someone like Zobrist later.

I like Longoria, but I feel there are plenty of great 3B options after the 3rd round, Utley is a 1st round Talent and after the top 3 the talent gets weak, so I say go with Utley.

help with mine, please?

Utley but Felix is a tough toss at that value.
