The guy with the first pick in my draft last nigh took Hanley; I laughed at first but after thinking about it I don't think it is crazy.
I can't really judge though, I would draft Pujols if he was available no matter which pick it was. That will likely hurt me in a few years when he starts to decline.
I was actually just thinking about this...I draft today and we dropped to 10 teams this year. I'm first pick and was thinking about who would be more valuable with the 1st pick since there is a quicker turn around....
You guys are thinking Hanley?
I guess the only thing is that the other power 1B seem to project to a lot more SO than Pujols....

The answer to this question depends on what your draft strategy is after. If you are someone who drafts offense predominately with your first 4 or 5 picks, Hanley is a no-brainer. I say this because you can still get good value at 20 at 1B. you should still have A-Gone, and he'll be a beast this year when he gets traded. There's also alot of depth at 1B with Lee, Berkman, Morales...if you dod your research, you can find a strong 1B.
However, I guarantee if you draft Pujols, all the top SS wil be gone by the time you get around to your 20th pick.
I think you can't overvalue a 5 cat MI, and he'd be my pick.
If you plan on drafting balance (hitting, pitching), I might consider Pujols in that case. Otherwise, Hanley is my guy.
