What do I do with Strasburg?

Postby Guido_BagDonnavich » Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:40 pm

I'm in a 10 team non-keeper league with only 5 bench spots. Recently there have been rumors saying that Strasburg won't be called up until June. Should I hold on to him and use up a valuable bench spot? Do I try to trade him (if so what's his value)? Should I just drop him?

Any help is appreciated. Leave me a link and I'll help you out.

Thanks!

I wouldn't give him a bench slot until June in a 10 teamer, there's going to be plenty of talent out there. When you find someone worth adding in April, drop him. Wait until his situation is 100% decided.

In a non-keeper, I would deal him. Someone will surely want him and you might get a decent player in return.

If you can't deal him, I may keep him. I know spring doesn't count, but Washington just won for the first time today. if they struggle early, they will need to activate him sooner to keep fans. I think the "next great thing" is worth a bench spot as of right now (unless you can get decent trade value)

You might want to check out the Player Updates forum too, but i heard he was going to be on the opening day roster, so i would definitely keep him around for now. If he does get sent down you can easily drop him and get him back later in a 10 teamer.

He'll get a half a dozen starts in the minors, and get called up - put him on your bench. ;-D
