Postby crod8712 » Sat Mar 13, 2010 3:33 pm

How would you rank the following prospects both for this year and for the future? Here is how I have them:

This year:
Madison Bumgarner
Aroldis Chapman
Desmond Jennings
Michael Stanton
Dustin Ackley

Future:
Michael Stanton
Desmond Jennings
Dustin Ackley
Madison Bumgarner
Aroldis Chapman

Would you guys make any changes?

This year seems about right, though Im not that big on Bumie right now ... might put Chapman higher if I knew he would get more innings. The rest I dont see getting much PT in 2010. For the future I might actually swap DJ and put him 1st, not just cause Im a Rays fan though. Personally I don't see any flaws in his game from becoming Ellsbury with more pop and better plate discipline, and thats pretty much an elite player. Stanton has great upside but it's more realistic he will become a 30-40hr guy with a pretty poor BA, and I those are generally taken later and not valued as high since they are more or less a 3 cat player. Also maybe Chapman 4th, he is a question mark but i'll take the chance with Bumie's velocity is concerning.

This year:
Aroldis Chapman (Reds have absolutely no incentive to keep him in the minors)
Madison Bumgarner
Michael Stanton (I just read today he might break with camp)
Desmond Jennings (the wrist injury pushes him down)
Dustin Ackley

Future:
Desmond Jennings
Michael Stanton
Dustin Ackley
Madison Bumgarner
Aroldis Chapman

I have both Stanton and Jennings in my farm and could not be more excited about both of them.. I would rank Stanton over Jennings but its a risk.. Stanton has really seemed to have turned some heads with his improving plate discipline this Spring.. He has not Kd that often and throw in a few walks.. He has 3 HR this spring and just hit a monster shot off of Liriano.. It will be interesting to see what he does in the minors this year.. Remember he was only 19 playing in AA last year.. I like high risk high rewards players though.. If Stanton even slightly improves his strike zone this guy could be unbelievable.. Jennings is going to be a star though and see why people would rather go the safer route with him.. I have both and love it.. I cant wait until they are both starting in my OF in my dynasty league.. They are definitely 1-2 though for the future..
