Philly/NJ area 25yr old NL keeper league needs up to 3 more

Postby jbstorey » Sat Mar 13, 2010 2:15 pm

The Sixth Street Baseball Association is moving into its 25th season and has openings for 2-4 teams. Currently, we have 10 teams.

We are an NL only keeper league, 6X6 roto style. We have a 23 man active roster and a 14 man reserve.

The active roster is filled by an auction draft with a $130 salary cap. The reserve roster is filled with a rotation draft. During the season the cap rises to $175. The fees for the league are pretty simple $300 to get in and covers all transactions with 3 exceptions. Trades are $2.50 per team but can be negotiated so that one team pays. Sept 1st roster expansion is $12.50 per player if you chose to do it. Finally there is a separate $75 free agent bidding budget for pickups during the season. These are weekly sealed bids from the beginning of the season until Sept.

Now is the time to get in the league. Cutdown day is Wednesday 3/31 at 10pm. This year you can keep up to 12 MLB players and as many minor leaguers that you want who have never been active and still have their rookie status. New teams come in with an empty roster but can make trades to pick up MLB by swapping rotation draft picks(the draft after the auction to fill the reserve roster) The rosters will be locked from the 3/31 deadline until draft day. We are planning on holding the auction draft noon Saturday 4/3 at the Ugly Moose in Manyunk, Pa.

If you are interested contact our commish Ralph his email is rspj4@comcast.net

just an update. We currently have 9 teams and are looking to add up to 3 team. The draft is noon on Sat 4/3. Get in as soon as possible so you can make some trades before cutdown day of Wed 3/31 at 10pm. I know make trades? After we finish the auction draft to fill your active roster we do a rotation draft to fill the reserve roster. You can trade those picks to existing teams for some of the players they may have but won't be able to keep. For every pick you trade you do have to get one back. Here's an example of a trade that just happened. Harang and a 14th round pick was traded to another team for a 4th round pick. You get the idea. Contact Ralph, Rich or and and get into the best league in the country now!

You might put that it is a PA league in the title so people won't read you whole post and discover in the last line it is a local league.

Actually, it's not specifically a PA league. The draft alternates locations every other year. Last year it was in the Ocean City, NJ area. This year it's in the Philly/PA area. Next year it will be back down the shore. I did also mention the draft could be done over the phone or online as well. Obviously being there is best.

Now is the time to jump in, the keeper cut down is 10pm on Wed 3/31 and the draft is noon Sat 4/3(next saturday). There is trading up until then. So any new teams may be able to pick up players by swapping reserve roster rotation draft picks for players. Contact the commish Ralph, Rich or myself asap. Make sure you either new team for the SSBA or Join SSBA in the subject of your email. Hope to welcome you to the league soon
