To be quite honest, in a 20 team league you can wait on catcher because you don't want to overpay and you can find power almost anywhere. Because of position scarcity, I'd take Troy Tulowitzki with that 7th pick. SS is not incredibly deep and Tulo is only 25 and is going to give you 30 HR, 95 RBI, 15 Steals, and around a .300 BA. You can wait til round 2 to get a premier Catcher (McCann), or a solid 1Bmen in Morneau or Butler. SS is slim pickings after the top 4 are off the board.
I donæt like Mauer or Tulo at 7th overall. Positional scarcity needs to be accounted for, but maybe not to the point where you'll reach for a guy who should a mid-second rounder just because of his eligibility. SS is a position you can fill in the mid to late rounds just fine if you're planning to do so, and I think reaching for Tulo is a mistake. It's nto a huge mistake, but I still think it's a mistake. If a guy like Fielder, Kemp or Cabrera is availble at 7 I think you need to take them.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If you're really worried about getting a nice player at a scarce position, pick Jeter on the way back if he's available, but don't pass up on one of the stud 1B's. I'd take your favorite out of Prince/Miggy/Teix before I took Kemp, fwiw.
In the first round, I'd want to take the best player on the board first. Assuming Pujols, Hanley, A-Rod, Utley, and Braun are off the board, I'd be happy with any one of Kemp, Fielder, Teixeira, or M-Cab.
