Which one to keep? WHIR

Postby zedtech78 » Thu Mar 11, 2010 5:36 pm

Need to pick one keeper from this lot to replace Nathan's spot on the roster, I'm leaning towards Aybar or Latos. What do you guys think?

- Erick Aybar (LAA - SS)
- Mat Latos (SD - SP)
- Joe Nathan (Min - RP)
- Brad Hawpe (Col - OF)
- Russell Martin (LAD - C,3B)
- Casey McGehee (Mil - 2B,3B)
- J.P. Howell (TB - RP)
- Phil Hughes (NYY - SP,RP)
- George Sherrill (LAD - RP)

League: Yahoo! 15 Team H2H
Cats: R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG, W, L, CG, SHO, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP
Note: I have 5th pick overall in the draft (non-snake).

Keepers on roster:
1. Buster Posey (SF - C)
2. Mark Teixeira (NYY - 1B)
3. Dan Uggla (Fla - 2B)
4. Jason Bay (NYM - OF)
5. Shin-Soo Choo (Cle - OF)
6. Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
7. Torii Hunter (LAA - OF)
8. Jayson Werth (Phi - OF)
9. Yovani Gallardo (Mil - SP)
10. Ricky Nolasco (Fla - SP)
11. David Price (TB - SP)
12. Max Scherzer (Det - SP,RP)
13. James Shields (TB - SP)
14. Brandon Webb (Ari - SP)
15. ???

Personally, I like Hawpe out of that bunch, but you are already keeping so many OF... I would either keep Aybar or aggressively shop some of that OF depth for infield positions and keep Hawpe.

Thanks for the help everyone. My strategy at the end of last season was to stock up on OF and move them for 3B/SS help :)

I definitely agree with this statement. Go with Aybar.
