Need to bounce this off some people to see if I'm not missing something. I have 10 Keeper Eligible players that I need to reduce to 5 actual Keepers by the end of the day.
Out of my list of potential Keepers below, I'm leaning towards: Reynolds, Mark 3B AR Choo, Shin-Soo RF CLE Jurrjens, Jair SP ATL Kershaw, Clayton SP LA Beckham, Gordon 3B CHW
Essentially, my debate has been between Beckham, Borbon or Abreu. Anyone have any thoughts?
Potential Keepers (Can keep 5 players for 4 more years): Reynolds, Mark 3B ARI Abreu, Bobby RF ANA Choo, Shin-Soo RF CLE Beckham, Gordon 3B CHW Borbon, Julio CF TEX Broxton, Jonathan RP LA Jurrjens, Jair SP ATL Lilly, Ted SP CHC Kershaw, Clayton SP LA Matsuzaka, Daisuke SP BOS
I would drop Jurrjens for Broxton but if you want to keep a bat that will at least be useful, Abreu is the choice over Jurrjens (I prefer Broxton in a keeper even if he's a closer).
As to the logic behind not keeping Broxton, he was only 12th in the league when it comes to Saves. I see no other reason in my league's settings to target RP's besides Saves. Jurjjens on the other hand was 7th in ERA and 4th in QS and has the potential to increase his K's this year.
I'm probably going with Beckham but am entertaining Abreu just a little bit more. If anyone has a better argument for Abreu and his ability to continue production at his ripe old age of 36 I'd love to hear it.
