12 Team, Mixed League Daily H2H Keeper League - 5 Keepers. 6X6 R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP - W, K, Sv, ERA, WHIP, QS
Positions are 1 C, 1b, 2b, 3b, ss, ci, mi, 4 of, utl, 5 sp, 3 rp, 5 man bench.
I've got Pujols, Sandoval, Aaron Hill, Matt Weiters and Adam Wainwright kept. I just traded up a 15th round pick (I have 2) to move up two spots from the 6th overall pick to the 4th overall. In addition I have the 10th overall pick but do not have another pick until the 5th round (some 20 picks later after compensating draft positions for keepers).
This is what the top of the draft is looking like (in order of who I'd draft - I weight heavily on position scarcity so I would rather take OFs later).
1 CC
2 Haren
3 Pedroia
4 Jeter
5 Sizemore
6 V-Mart
7 Carlos Lee
8 Ellsbury
9 Ichiro
10 Javier Vasquez
Note that many guys who you'd draft before these are already kept and starters are much more valuable when playing with QS. Also Jeter's game gets a big boost in H2H play I think as guys with his level of consistant play win H2H leagues - let alone at SS. I'm not big on Ellsbury as I think SBs can be had for a lot cheaper later in the draft. In fact there's no chance I'm taking him with either of my first two picks.
I think I'm going to be looking at drafting any of the top 4 that I'm targeting and I'd prefer to get another stud pitcher first to pair up with Wainwright. If I forgo CC or Haren then the next group of available starters include Vasquez, Beckett, Cain, Billingsley, Peavy, Hamels, Lackey, Garza and Jurrjens.
I know the guy who picks first likes Sizemore as he had him the past two years. I have no idea who the second guy will pick as he has a history of strange draft picks. I know the third owner likes CC and was trying to get me to trade him Haren in the off season (I let Haren go in favor of keeping my 2nd round pick - which is probably where I'll draft him anyway). He'll probably go starter.
Who would you draft next and why?
