Little Help with some Keepers

Postby edawg012 » Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:35 pm

I can keep 4 keepers for my new year of baseball and I have 5 possible guys that I could keep. We keep the players in the rounds we drafted them here are my options what do you think??? WHIR

Kinsler- 7th round
Ellsbury- 4th round
Wainwright- 11th round
Kershaw- 14th round
A. Mccutheon- 10th round (picked up as FA)

I am def keeping Kinsler but I am not sure of the combination of the other 3

To me, it came down to Kershaw vs McCutchen. I don't know about either of them, actually, but strictly going by the ADP figures I've seen, you'd be getting Kershaw 3 rounds later than his ADP, and McCutchen would only be one round earlier, so it seems like it's slightly better value. Besides, you've already got a ton of speed from Ellsbury, and I don't know if McCutchen will reach 20 HR this year. Kershaw's not without his faults - he's been really inefficient, and might have trouble pitching deeper into games (which will limit his win potential), but I like him just a little better than McCutchen.

Kinsler, Ellsbury, and Wainwright are no-brainers. I would give the edge to Kershaw over McCuthcen. I think Kershaw will have a monster season. Plus, like the previous post said, you've got steals covered with Ellsbury and Kershaw is a steal in the round you drafted him in.

Kershaw's value wins out there I think. I'm not sold on McCutchen's power and steals are easy to come by late anyway.
