Need help on my auction keeper! Please help! WHIR!!!

C - Doumit $10
1b - Morales - $25
2b -
3b - Sandoval - $23
SS -
OF - Ethier $23
OF - Ichiro $16
OF - A Jones $12
Util - Hayward $15
BN - Damon $10

P Kershaw $21
P Webb $16
P Bell $19
P Wagner $13
P Jenks $12
P Marmol $10

So here is my Dilemma...Right now I can make a max bid of $31. I currently have to fill 4 more spots on the team. Since it is a keeper league I REALLY want to get Tommy Hanson. Right now it's between me and one other person for him and he has the high bid at $22. Meaning I have to go $23...well right now Howie Kendrick is at $8 and I was looking at him too...But if I go 23 on Hanson I'd be out on Kendrick...what should I do? I really like the kid from Detroit Sizemore or Absdrubal Cabrera.

Some other good pitchers still out there to get:
Nolasco
B Anderson
U Jimenez

For keepers though it's hard to get better than Hanson. What should I do? Should I spend whatever I can to get him? WHIR

I don't know if going all in on Hanson is the best option (really depends on your keeper rules)... however, losing out on Kendrick is not the worst thing in the world. I actually prefer Asdrubal to him.

As for the other options, Nolasco should really bounce back this year should you lose out on Hanson.

I'm an auction draft rookie, so take this with a grain of salt, but here goes:

Losing Kendrick isn't that big of a deal I don't think. Frankly, I believe you can get similar production for cheaper from Asdrubal or some great upside from Sizemore. Nothing Kendrick has done would make me think that he's worth missing Hanson for.

That being said, I wouldn't stay in too much longer on Hanson either...maybe drive up the price a dollar more and hope you reach the other guy's breaking point. If he stays in, then you have successfully leached a couple bucks out of your opponent and get left with the more than adequate consolation prizes that should come cheaper of Anderson, Nolasco and Jimenez (in that order, based on the auction style, I would think). Make sure you get a gauge on the other guy though to make sure you can take the risk of driving up the price. Personally, I'm a big fan of Brett Anderson this year.

Thx for the help.

I have never been a part of an auction league, but I would not go all in on Hanson. There are many other young up and comers that will become just as good.

i have to agree with the rest, i wouldn't put myself out there over Hanson. U. jimenez was huge and i can see him putting up similar numbers.

I like Anderson and Jimenez A LOT for the long term. If their prices are significantly lower, then cash in on them rather than going all in on Tommy. ;-D

Don't go overboard for Hanson. Nolasco and Anderson are fine options and probably can be had for 15 or less.
