Ludwick for Reimold/Stanton (w/ other options)

Postby smurfman111 » Mon Mar 08, 2010 5:18 pm

Hi all,

I am in a 8x8 12 team mixed keeper league where you can keep as many players as you want (30 man rosters).

I have kept 29/30 players so i only get 1 pick in the very last round of our draft. Right now I can trade up to get the first 2 picks with some restrictions. The deal is as follows:

I Give: Ryan Ludwick

I Get: First 2 picks of the draft BUT CANNOT pick Ackley, Sheets, Scott Sizemore, or any player from TB, Sea, Cle, Stl, Oak, Phi, Mil, or LAD. Don't ask why there are these restrictions, it is a complicated deal, haha.

Right now my 2 picks would be Nolan Reimold and Mike Stanton (keeper prospect).

What do you guys think?

1) Good/Bad deal
2) Would you take Reimold and Stanton?
3) Who would you take instead of Reimold and/or Stanton?

Thanks alot,

Shawn

I like Reimold over Ludwick, so Stanton for free is a no brainer to me.

Those are very odd restrictions.... That said, I would jump on this. Ludwick is already in his age 32 season and since this is a keeper league, you have to take that into account. Reimold and Stanton for an aging Ludwick sounds like gold to me.

Would Reimold and Stanton be the 2 you choose?

I have open reigns on ANYONE else aslong as they fall into the guidelines mentioned in the first post. Would you take Stanton over Austin Jackson or other players who will produce in the Majors starting in April?

thanks

Thanks alot for your responses.

I went ahead and made the trade so now I need to figure out who I should take.

Any ideas for what my two picks should be?

Or are Reimold and Stanton the 2 best picks? I know you don't know exactly what is available, but there isn't alot other than prospects. Reimold is pretty much a lock-in pick to replace Ludwick, but after that is Stanton the best prospect i should pick? I am short on SP, are there any big prospects I should know about this year that are flying under the radar?

thanks

I like that trade for you.

I guess I'm not understanding who is available to be drafted. Heyward and Strasburg are owned, I take it? Bumgarner? Brian Matusz?

I don't think Reimold and Stanton are bad draft picks, at all -- I'd make the Ludwick trade for those two. But it's hard to say who I'd take without knowing who's available.

Sorry, I know it is a very vague question because you don't know exactly who is available, but if you can imagine in a 12 team, 30 man roster keeper league (with 2 additional ML claims available), there isn't alot left.

I actually have Matusz; Heyward and Strasburg are claimed already by teams and Bumgarner is already on someone's roster. I guess I am actually answering my own question here... it seems Stanton would be the logical choice but if people have other ideas of players flying under the radar that may not be claimed yet, I would love to hear it.

thanks
