Keeper trade proposed to me. We have a 12-team ROTO keeper league, we've already kept our players and the Commish opened up trading before the draft.
I have just been offered to get Matt Wieters for my Gordon Beckham. Very tempting but I can't make a decision. WHIR!
I have kept: D. JETER - SS C. GRANDERSON - OF R. ZIMMERMAN - 3B G. BECKHAM - 2B/3B D. UGGLA - 2B J. BECKETT - SP C. BILLINGSLEY - SP A. McCUTCHEN - OF
His keepers: Albert Pujols (StL - 1B) Joe Mauer (Min - C) Carl Crawford (TB - OF) Justin Upton (Ari - OF) Adrián González (SD - 1B) Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF) Matt Wieters (Bal - C) Jonathan Broxton (LAD - RP)
Would you do it? I kept both Uggla and Beckham at 2B because I could use one for Utility, MI, could also use Beckham at 3B and CI and when any 2B or 3B has a day off, I should have a solid active player. I do realize catcher is a really shallow position and Wieters could fill it nicely as long as he plays like he did at the end of last year. They are BOTH solid long-term keepers. I hate to give Beckham up, but should I for Wieters?
I think i'd wait to see how the draft played out. I wouldn't want to give up the depth at the 2nd and 3rd base positions help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=402530

That would definitely be the way to handle this, but this is pre-draft trade session allowed by the Commish. There's no guarantee that the owner would want to make this trade later.
I think the only way you consider keeping Beckham is if both players are only available to you this season.
Long-term, considering he plays catcher and his upside, Weiters is way more valuable. Second base is also relatively deep, ESPECIALLY compared to catcher. So even if it is a one-year situation, you may still want to go Weiters.

Depends on either how much you trust Uggla or who you think you can get in the draft at 2B. I think people over value Wieters this year and I hate the idea of making keeper decisions for 2 years down the road, but he will be solid at catcher even now, and you already have a 2B and 3B, so it just comes down to how much you trust those guys.
