I will take the stud in Kemp and decent closer in Hoffman every day of the week. McCutcheon and Feliz are talented but they are years away from being able to do what Kemp already does. The only way I could see me accepting the 2nd part is if I were rebuilding, but I wouldn't be rebuilding by using Kemp in the trade and I wouldn't be rebuilding in March.

By years, I would think 1-2, right? It's not like Kemp's been around since the 20s?

Hoffman has. It's foolish to think that just because he dodged an age-bullet last year, he's going to again this year when he's even older.

Still, you take 30/30. McCutch won't hit for power, and I'd look for an arm elsewhere. Keep and use Hoffman 'til he burns you, but be prepared that the end could be any time. Even before opening day.
