Huge Dynasty trade advice WHIR

Postby dicehound » Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:14 pm

12-team roto keeper/dynasty (get to keep 15); 7x7 (standard + OBP/SLG & HLD/K per 9)

I was offered Hanley Ramirez for my Justin Upton and Dustin Pedroia. All things equal, do I take this deal? Hanley would take my MI spot with Rollins at SS and Roberts at 2B. We play 5 outfielders. Something tells me to hold on to Justin and Pedroia, which is why I'm asking for more opinions. Am I crazy to turn this deal down?

Leave a link and I'll get back to you.

I don't think you are crazy for thinking about it. After all, Hanley is Hanley! That said, I think I would do the deal, pending on who your SS would be. If it is some crazy drop-off, I would think twice. I do think that in a few years, Upton is going to put up very Hanley-esqe numbers, although in the outfield.

This is a close call but I am not sure the real gain here. Upton's upside is Hanley and you get Pedroia. Very nice but if Justin doesn't live up to expectations (which is possible) you lose a top notch hitter who is still young. I think this is close but not enough for me. I would need something that really blows my socks off to trade Hanley or Pujols.

No, you're not crazy... Pedroia is overrated, and, as someone has said, Upton's ceilling is Hanley (I also happen to be in the minority that thinks that he's not gonna live up to the monstrous hype that has been created this season). You may try to convince him to throw something else you like in the deal, though... he's bound to drop a player anyway.

Please help me with mine

I 'd make the deal to get Hanley. Always go with the sure thing.

Help with mine?
