12-team 6x6 H2H mixed league, WHIR

Postby saemick » Fri Mar 05, 2010 4:55 pm

Just drafted out of the 2 spot. My idea was to draft only hitters in rounds 1-6 (ended up going to round 7) and then get mostly pitchers in the following rounds. how'd I do:

1. Hanley Ramírez (Fla - SS)
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (Bos - OF)
3. Adrián González (SD - 1B)
4. Brandon Phillips (Cin - 2B)
5. Jason Bay (NYM - OF)
6. Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
7. Gordon Beckham (CWS - 3B)
8. Ricky Nolasco (Fla - SP)
9. Josh Beckett (Bos - SP)
10. Brandon Webb (Ari - SP)
11. James Shields (TB - SP)
12. Geovany Soto (ChC - C)
13. Brian Fuentes (LAA - RP)
14. Roy Oswalt (Hou - SP)
15. David Price (TB - SP)
16. Stephen Drew (Ari - SS)
17. Frank Francisco (Tex - RP)
18. Adrián Béltre (Bos - 3B)
19. Brad Lidge (Phi - RP)
20. Francisco Liriano (Min - SP,RP)
21. Chris Davis (Tex - 1B,3B)
22. Drew Stubbs (Cin - OF)
23. Aroldis Chapman (Cin - SP)

Obviously with the news that Webb may start the year on the DL he could have gone a little lower (had I known that yesterday), but he can still be a beast if he gets healthy

leave a link for yours too

thanks

i think for only picking hitters the first several rounds i expected better hitters, yet your pitching seems pretty solid. HRs might be light, same with rbi but nice steals and you probably have a few diamonds in the rough in terms of pitchers.

I kinda agree with remus. I expected some better hitters given your draft strategy. That being said, ya do have speed with a mix of power. And your pitching is actually pretty solid!!!You should have a very competitive team. Good luck! check mine out:

Ok, had another Draft for a different team, did the same strategy, only I drafted out of the 10 spot. Which draft post a a better team in your opinion:

1. Mark Teixeira (NYY - 1B)
2. Miguel Cabrera (Det - 1B)
3. José Reyes (NYM - SS)
4. Mark Reynolds (Ari - 1B,3B)
5. Curtis Granderson (NYY - OF)
6. Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
7. Cole Hamels (Phi - SP)
8. Josh Beckett (Bos - SP)
9. Brett Anderson (Oak - SP)
10. Jake Peavy (CWS - SP)
11. Francisco Rodríguez (NYM - RP)
12. Carlos González (Col - OF)
13. Howie Kendrick (LAA - 2B)
14. Miguel Montero (Ari - C)
15. Aaron Harang (Cin - SP)
16. Chad Qualls (Ari - RP)
17. Nolan Reimold (Bal - OF)
18. Ryan Rowland-Smith (Sea - SP)
19. Vernon Wells (Tor - OF)
20. Mark Teahen (CWS - 1B,3B,OF)
21. Gerardo Parra (Ari - OF)
22. Cristian Guzmán (Was - SS)

I kind of like your 2nd team a bit better I like drafting later to start of with you can get 2 solid players right away I think your 2nd team has more power with still a good mix of speed. I think Reyes is a risk but where you got him is great value if he puts up the numbers he has had in the past.

I think you have 1 too many hitters 13 seems 1 or 2 too many and your pitching is still solid but could use some more depth considering Peavy's injury past last year, but healthy he's still one of the best. Not big on Harang.

If you could take your pitchers from 1st team and add them to hitters from 2nd that'd be dynamite...lol. Seriously though I guess i would have to favor 2nd team a bit. The offense is very good (i too don't mind picking later in a draft....you got a nice 1-2 punch) and could always use one for trade bait down the road if needed. Your pitching is has potential. Beckett is always solid. Hamels should rebound(he's working on 3rd pitch so that should really help), and hopefully Peavy comtinues to be as good as he was at the end of last season! This team should be very competitive!!! Good luck and thanks for checking out my team.
