Not sure about this year - WHIR

Postby hachaliah » Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:55 pm

Hey all, another exciting year ahead although I am not feeling too confident about my team just yet. Still a few rounds to go, but we shall see what happens. 12 team H2H points league, points as follows:
Batters Stat Categories: Runs (R), Hits (H), Doubles (2B), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Strikeouts (K), Ground Into Double Play (GIDP), Batting Average (AVG), On-base + Slugging Percentage (OPS)
Pitchers Stat Categories: Wins (W), Losses (L), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Batters Grounded Into Double Plays (GIDP), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP)

Here's where I stand right now:

C- Victor Martinez
1b - Todd Helton
2b - Felipe Lopez
3b - Miguel Tejada
SS - Derek Jeter
OF - Curtis Granderson
OF - Juan Pierre
OF - Jason Kubel
Util -

SP - CC Sabathia
SP - Josh Beckett
SP - Ubaldo Jimenez
SP - Joel Pinerio
SP -
RP - Heath Bell
RP - Jose Valverde

Any thoughts so far would be appreciated. Also, any late round sleeper pitching would be helpful too as I feel a little more frustrated with what I have except Sabathia and Beckett so far.
Thanks!

Who did you draft in round 1? Sabathia? I don't see a clear first-rounder there. I would bolster 2B and 3B. The two you have aren't real reliable. I really like Granderson this year though. His power will be magnified at the new ballpark in NY. I wouldn't be too worried about pitching Sabathia, Beckett, and Jimenez are going to be real solid for you. Look for someone like Brian Matusz from the Orioles late as a sleeper. He is becoming more and more popular though, so he might be gone earlier than you thought. Also, Kyle Blanks would be a decent backup to Helton that you could pick up in the later rounds.
Good luck!
