Latos is last?!?!? Can you explain that? Petco Park is the perfect setup for tiny ratios, and he racks up Ks as well, and he's a top prospect and you'd rather have all these mediocre options like Matsuzaka? Latos is another player that everyone hates that I'm just scratching my head trying to figure out why.

Slowey
E. Santana
Kuroda
Lilly (would be 3rd ovr Kuroda if he weren't out a month)

*gap*

Latos (most upside out of this tier)
Harang (i've been burned by him drafting him after his spectacular 200K+ seasons twice now... he's got great K potential, but I'm not sure the control was ever there...)

*gap*

Dice-K (chase wins)
Niemann

*gap*

Homer Bailey (should have been a major league batter instead of a pitcher).

Oops, brain cramp. Keep your clothes on, sunshine. :-b

I'd probably spot him ahead of Dice K and Harang. Latos is going to be on an innings limit and that's something to keep in mind (let's say 130-150 IP).

Behind Ervin and Bailey, IMO. Ervin's velocity was much better as the year progressed (so was his command) and he really had a respectable finish. Same thing for Bailey: velocity is up, had a nice closing stretch. Like I said, Latos is most likely to have an innings cap.

That seems like the Rich Harden principle. It's better to have 150 nice innings than 200 from AJ Burnett or whoever.

As far as the list, I'd go Latos, Slowey, Lilly, Kuroda in that order. Bailey and Ervin are wildness risks and I don't feel like picking them this year.
