Undrafted hitters.

Postby jebatzel » Sun Mar 21, 2004 2:32 am

all these players went undrafted in my league:

J. Dye (Oak - RF)
T. Redman (Pit - CF)
A. Kearns (Cin - CF,RF)
J. Drew (Atl - CF,RF)
P. Konerko (CWS - 1B)
P. Burrell (Phi - LF)
R. Hernández (SD - C)
R. Klesko (SD - 1B)
C. Patterson (ChC - CF)
E. Hinske (Tor - 3B)
J. Burnitz (Col - LF,CF,RF)
C. Floyd (NYM - LF)

what would be your top 3 of this list? I am thinking Kearns, Hinske, Patterson, and Klesko.

using R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SH, SF, SB, BB, K, FPCT, AVG, OPS

Sunday night they all become free agents, so trying to find me the best 3.

Patterson and Kearns for sure

Hinkse is nice if you need a 3b

Burnitz, Konerko, Burrell, and Klesko were definitely worth draft picks as well

Damn!! Wish I was in this league!! not sure whose in your OF...
but patterson/kearns/drew would be welcome on my team..
if you have griffey as well... it could be the M.A.S.H OF !

If those are the bats on the waiver wire.. who are some of the pitchers?

drop bradley and take Patterson, he's basically a better version

what type of league is this? and what is your pitching like?
no top tier closers but a couple that would be nice middle-tier
I don't understan how all these guys went undrafted! in most of my leagues you can't even get most of the replacement closers.. i.e.
valverde, marte, hawkins

I thought I would make it interesting. makes beating some one 25 to 0 harder in a week.

I am just not seeing the different between Patterson and Bradley.

what kind of numbers difference we looking at?

Bradley is a better k/bb hitter.

They're close for sure, but Patterson is on the much better offensive team and has a bit more power. I would look for around the same number of runs (maybe 5 or so less), 10 more homers from Patterson, 15 more rbi, 5 more steals but maybe 15 points less ba.
