Bechkam for McCutchen

Postby rasto21585 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 8:21 pm

I am in a 20 team dynasty league. I am thinking of trading mccutchen and edwin encarnacion for becham and carlos gonzalez. Should I do this?

offered to you or you are offering?

B/C if you offered this, you might get a slap.

EE is decent in a deep league like this, but he's not great shakes. His time is running out. I wish I could remember who mocked me for running him down as a starter in 12-team leagues last year, but I wasn't buying him even in Cincy with a nice park for homers. Now, it's not like the park he's in is bad for homers, but he is lifetime .250/.320/.427 out of the GAP (.274/.368/.476 at the GAP career).

McCutheon's a truly great player, but without CF as a separate slot, he's downgraded. And his power came from one game last year, by the by.

Beckham is the new Utley IMHO. Car-Go, while getting overrated this spring (over Bruce! Hells no), is very much a player.

Take this ASAP if offered to you. If you're offering it, look out.

PS: Funniest response I've had to anything this year was asking about Car Go in my 12 teamer to have the guy respond "Hanley". His logic was underwear gnomish:
1. That 1 or 2 years ago I wouldn't trade Bruce to him for Vladdy
2. That Yahoo! has Car-Go ahead of Bruce for 2010 now
3. That if I have Bruce over a HoF and Yahoo! has Car-Go over Bruce, Car-Go is worth more than a HoF (or as much as a HoF) and Hanley is my HoF player
4. That age had nothing to do with Bruce over Vladdy

Hilarity. And profit!

EE clearly doesn't belong in that offer. Everyone else is light years above him. Beckham and Car-Go by a mile, not even close.

Closer.

Feel him out though.

While I was trying to make you laugh with my tales of Hanley for Car-Go, it was also meant to warn you that he's been hyped all offseason to the point that I'll actively avoid taking him before the 10th in redrafts now, but won't get him!! His owner's been hearing the hype all winter. He might be in full mancrush mode.

Feel him out for G-Becks, too; I got a couple of nice, very nice offers for him this year in my dynasty, and I didn't consider them. Just couldn't trade him.

If he's staring at John Macdonald for 3B, feel him out on whether he believes in EE.

All of this is stuff you need to do b4 sending him over these, where you're clearly winning even with Scherzer.

Happ is the anti-Car Go. I have to remind myself that at some point, the price is so cheap he's worth a look. But again, it's a winter of bust predictions you're following with an offer for his prized youngsters.

Feel him out. Do your work asking the guy.

Ok good point bro. I put his team below just in case if you have a suggestion on a trade I can offer him to help my team out. I can see he needs some serious pitching help and maybe I can help via trade. What offers should I make?

There you go. He might be scared that G-Becks and Zobrist will both only be 2B in 2011.

Try feeling out Scherez and EE together in the first deal. With his hitting, he might step back a bit hitting wise to get a Scherzer. Pujols isn't getting younger.

You can try using Scherzer instead of EE. With his pitching, you might get lucky that he's desperate and isn't that high on CarGo.

Well he sent me an email stating that he isn't a fan of encarnacion and happ. I be though he would like to have scherzer on his staff. A young sp that gives a lot of k's with a decent era. What ya think I should propose?

Just Scherzer/McCutchen for CarGo and Beckham. I like your side much better but this has a outside shot based on how bad his pitching is.
