Morrison is a much better hitter than Sanchez, but he won't be much of a fantasy option either. His approach doesn't garner much power upside. Give me a post-hype power hitter for this thread.

How about a Chris Davis - Take Two thread?
I'll disagree at least to some degree on Morrison's power upside. His current approach as a 22 year old in Double-A won't allow him to hit many HR's. That said, his raw power is awesome, and it is an approach issue with him. I either remember hearing on a project prospect podcast, or reading in this year's BA handbook that he puts on the same power displays as Stanton in BP (yes I know, it is BP... but it is a display of his raw power). When it comes game time he's a gap to gapper, but I do think his raw power leaves something to hope for. His BB:K is fabulous, and there is just so much to like IMO.

Yes, the kid has great raw power, but like you said - he's more of a gapper. It's not just his approach, but his swing as well, that will always lead him to have a high GB%. He has been able to show a decent HR/FB ratio, but the sheer lack of FBs will always limit that power upside. He's going to be a good hitter, as he draws a lot of walks and has good contact rates, but he really projects to be a 20HR/year hitter. At the 1B position, this really limits his upside, IMO.

haha me too, i was loling hard for the first few pages.
sorry, but i had a personal interest in Gaby as i have had him in my minor league system for a few seasons now, and as noted above, just traded him away as a toss in. Of course you had no way of knowing this, but i was just taken a back when the thread came up.
The overwhelming volume of smiles tipped me off in the end as to what was up, having started these very type of threads before, but by then the cat was out of the bag so to speak. the jig was up.
maybe try again tomorrow with Matt Riley. I hear he is making a comeback. I'll shut up this time.
