Help! Rank the top keepers from this team!

Postby sandman80109 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:08 pm

I play in a H2H league where last year we kept only 4 players, this year we are voting on expanding it to 6.
Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL
Batters Stat Categories: Runs (R), Hits (H), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Strikeouts (K), Batting Average (AVG)
Pitchers Stat Categories: Wins (W), Losses (L), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Holds (HLD), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP)

My roster was cobbled together at the end while keeping my core players in tack with an eye towards this season keeping atleast 4.

My strategy has been to find multipositional players with good average and decent power. I focus on infielders right or wrong, believing the good ones are more scarce. I figure I can pick up outfielders more easily. I also don't worry about keeping pitchers as I don't get every day production like I do from my hitters. That strategy has bite me more than once as you can see from my pitchers I don't have much to go on.

So how would you rank my hitters? If the cut off was 4 instead of 6 would that change your rankings? I think it would be easy if I could keep 7. I've listed my rankings at the end of this post for comparison.

Carlos Beltrán (NYM - OF) 100/308 50 100 10 48 11 43 .325

So my post was acting funny, so I didn't get my rankings on it. But here is how I see it.

#1 Chase Utley
#2 Joe Mauer
#3 Kevin Youkilis
#4 Ryan Zimmerman
#5 Dustin Pedroia
#6 Pablo Sandoval
#7 Ben Zobrist
#8 Carlos Beltran
#9 David Aardsma

I know some of these players overlap positions, but I usually play the hot bat at the utility spot. I threw in the best pitcher on the roster I had just to stir it up a bit.

LMK your thoughts!
Thanks
