Bad argument. Wins are not a good stat for SP. If you want to argue IP matters then I'm on board but why would you pick Carp for Cy then?

onto topic at hand, I personally think the CY needs to start being based more like the MVP. Why is it pitchers on crappy teams get a pass, but hitters cant?

I voted for Wainwright and CC

MVP is for all players
Cy Young is for pitchers
Hank Aaron is for hitters

The latter just doesn't get any publicity for the most part.

the Cy Young is for the best pitcher in the league. this is independent of any offensive contributions by the team.

the MVP is for the most valuable player in the league, and the voters tend to think that in order to be considered the most valuable you must have carried your team into or close to the posteason.

Nope, he will start winning AL Cy Youngs in 2014 when he moves to the AL East.

Fans vote for the Hank Aaron, therefore it is not an award that has any prestige.

I know you were being sarcastic, so allow me to continue

Yes, because the coaches always get it right with Gold Gloves and writers get it right with MVP's and BBWA gets it right with the Hall of Fame.

Stupid fans shouldn't have any say ;-7
