Tough.

A Rod trumps A-Ram of course but you get maybe an extra year or 2 down the road. But it's tough to give up A-Rod.

Hamels and Peavy, tough to tell b/c of injuries & Peavy going to the AL (although he was his same old self at the end of the year)

But then you have Heyward vs. Cahill, both young but we all know the hype on Heyward. I imagine this is who you're trying to get.

If you're a little bit of a gambler, do the deal. If you'd rather play it safe I say no.

yeah, this has been a tough one, and yes, heyward is who I want, but all unprovens are still risky and giving up arod is hard, I want heyward and hard to take the risk or exchange risk with the two pitchers and aramis has the potential, but same thing here. Thanks for the feedback.

You know, I'm the old guy on here and totally in the minority when I always talk about this...(and I know it's bad advice for someone who just wants to win)....but here goes (my speech)

Unless you're in it to win at all costs, or FOR MONEY...then aren't we all in it to have fun? This is my 14th year in my keeper league, I've played long before that in other leagues. Anyone who reads these boards knows I'm no expert, but I always tell what I think as opposed to what any of us can read in a fantasy magazine. I believe (and use) mathematics, probably as much as any one. I've been the champion twice, I started slow but I am always in the mix every year when it comes to the playoffs.

What the hell am I rambling about?

I will be one of the few on this board who will say...if you want Heyward, get Heyward. Have fun.

As a fellow Braves fan, I have ruined the careers of Francoeur (remember him on the cover of Sports Illustrated, saying "The Natural")and Jordan Schafer lately, so I know how wiffing on the unknown hurts. But if you're in this for the long haul, why not get a guy you like? Just be fair in the trades so you won't hurt the other managers in your league with lopsided trades.

Sorry to ramble, but I drafted Strasburg pretty early in my keeper league...so when he dominates, I'll feel great...when he turns into Van Poppel...I'll have a laugh and a memory. :-B

This is my 10th year in the league and my track record is similar to yours in success, so I like longevity and am usually an owner who likes the seasoned veterans but I think heyward trumps shafer, and close to frenchy who I cna't believe struggled with his swing like he did, wish he could have been successful and stayed in atlanta, but...
