Billingsley for his Nelson Cruz? Thanks!

Postby Newkie » Mon Mar 01, 2010 3:08 pm

I am in a 10 manager, 10 keeper H2H league with 5x5 scoring. Would you trade Billingsley for Nelson Cruz ?
Heres my team

C Mauer
1B Adrian Gonzalez
3B Aramis Ramirez
OF Bay
OF Sizemore
OF A. Either
SP Josh Johnson
SP C. Carpenter
SP C. Billingsley
SP C. Lee

I realize I have a strong OF, but it can never be too strong. I like Bills alot, but his second half scares me, and I do have 3 other SP's that area decent too. What would you do. I suppose I dont need 4 OF' or 4 SP's.

Thanks

I like Cruz over Billingsley. Billingsley had a dud year and I would rather invest in sure things. I also read that the Rangers manager might unleash Cruz for some steals this year. He could be a 30/20 or better.

I agree, but its tough getting rid of a SP that I know I will want later in the draft. I dont have a first (11th round after the keepers are gone) and second round draft this yr. so I assume I will be drafting a Harden or Zambrano by then. Maybe not even that good, maybe as low as a Kazmir. But with the answers so far, and my first thought of the offer, Cruz might have found a new home.

Thanks

Any other thoughts?

P.S. I even had an offer for Josh Hamilton, but of the two, I like Cruz better. This isnt a home run derby!

Do you know why he had a dud year. Pitched hurt the 2nd half, plus had bad luck.

I got to disagree. A career .255 hitter. I might take Cruz for 1 year only, but i think Bills wins next 2-3 years easily.
