Beltran, Pence, or Adam Jones?

Postby dg12x » Mon Mar 01, 2010 12:22 pm

Drafting in a league with standard 5x5 cats plus OPS and XBH.

I'm seriously considering Beltran over Pence or Adam Jones as I believe I can fill in for Beltran for a month or two and then get high-end production for the rest of the season.
Am I nuts?

How would you rank these 3 guys, regardless of team need...just from production potential?

Thanks and will help out in return.

I rank them Pence, Jones and Beltran until I get a better idea of Beltran's knee.

At this point in his career, I'm not sure I'd take Beltran over the other two even if he was going to start the season healthy. I'll take Jones over Pence, only because I think he's got more room to improve. What you see is what you get from Pence...he doesn't have any more "breakout" in him.

Jones, Pence, Beltran. I'm a Mets fan, damnit, and did you know that this is the 3'rd choice for the spaceshuddle to land? I would trade all Mets hitters but maybe Reyes because he might lead the team in HR's with most coming on the inside the park variety.

Seriously, don't rank Beltran ahead of those guys.

Maybe. Pence at 27 is just entering his peak, so a power spike is possible.
