Who to pick in rd 1 when there's no one left?

Postby bongovt » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:52 am

This is a first year as a keeper league, we keep 6 and lose the corresponding rd pick...I won the league last year, but traded my top pick in the process, so I am rebuilding..lucky in the the lottery, so I hold the 2nd overall pick...I own Dunn, Jeter, Adam Jones, King Felix, Josh Johnson, and Broxton...(this is an OBP league, so Dunn is actually a top 10-15 player). The best available remaining player is David Wright, who I will take if he's there...after that, Im not so sure...I think I'll be choosing from Sizemore, Rollins, Youkilis, Phillips, Morneau, and Ichiro, all ranked in the 22-30ish range...other than OBP, cats are standard roto....who would you take? WHIR....leave a link! thanks!!!

Cases can obviously be made for the others, but given his OBP and 3B eligibility, I think Youkilis is the choice here.

I would agree with the Youkilis suggestion, Morneau is intriguing also but I'm very curious what effect Target Field will have on his numbers this year. Perhaps being outdoors will help him as his career numbers are slightly higher away from home...though the dual eligibility of Youk is nice flexibility to have plus the production & consistency he offers.

I agree with this. Although I think Sizemore will make a nice comeback this season, 3B is shallow and outside of SB, Youk should outperform Sizemore, including in OBP.
