Is anyone else less than thrilled with the options in the early second round?

We just determined our draft order last Friday, so this past weekend was the first chance I had to really delve into the different scenarios that could play out. I drew the 8th spot in a 10 team, which means I will also have the 13th overall selection. If the 1st round plays out as expected, I will be choosing between Fielder/Tex/MCab. But the probably options available on the turnaround really have me baffled (I feel fairly certain that Kemp, Longoria and Wright will be taken between my picks):
1. Tulo -- not sold on him being taken this high.
2. Kinsler -- I hate taking someone in the first 2 rounds with injury concerns.
3. Holliday -- Really not sure what I think about him this year.
4. Lincecum -- don't like taking SP this early, usually draft offense/power early and frequently.
5. Crawford -- I have typically stayed away from guys early in draft whose value is heavily influenced by SB's.

What are you guys thinking about the early second round (or the options available around picks 11-14)? Is there something I am missing as far as the value of the above options (i.e.: Crawford's speed and "contract year" status make him much more attractive?), or is this part of the draft just a crappy place to be this year?

I agree with you. Personally, I'm hoping that Longoria or one of the elite 1Bs is still around.

Try picking your first rounder when Longoria and the elite 1Bs are gone. :-/

1. Lincecum - He's the safe pick if there.
2a. Kinsler
2b. Holliday
4. Crawford
5. Tulo

if i have a chance to get 2 of the tex/fielder/mcab with my first 2 picks. then i'll do it. in my yahoo mock drafts when i have a late pick, i often ended up taking 2 of them and putting one in the UTIL spot.

The yahoo mocks are absurd, I got Tex/Miggy/Reynolds and only passed on Zimm because I was trying to build something close to a real team for insight. I can't imagine the trends of those mocks carrying over to serious leagues.

David Wright also should be in this discussion, though, of course, he has some question marks as well.

You might luck out and get one of the top 1B not named Pujols, but assuming the top 11 bats (at least IMO) go off the board, I'd say Lincecum is the safest to finish with first round numbers. Of course, most anyone wouldn't want to confide in a pitcher with a first round pick, but assuming a full bill of health, he should.

After that, I'd probably go with Holliday. I'd pass on Kinsler (health and BA concerns) since in a standard 12-teamer, you have a good chance at seeing Phillips/Cano/Roberts/Pedroia/Hill drop down. Tulowitzki gets consideration here because you don't want to reach on SS with the options being suspect once he, Hanley, Reyes, and Rollins are off the board.
