$1000 cap and draft 24 players - 9 pitchers (7 starters and 2 closers) and 15 position players (10 Infielders and 5 Outfield)
Scoring: Basically WINS and K's Pitchers - 10 pts a win, -5 a loss, 1 per K , 5 pts for CG, 5 pts for Shutout --- NO ERA, WHIP etc.
Which is the best Keeper Pitcher ?
Hamels ($50) -- (278 pts. in 2009) - 26 yrs old -bounce back possible / Phils should get him WINS. Kershaw ($45) -(273 pts. in 2009)- 21 years old with high Ks but not gone deep into games. Wandy ($20) - (352 pts. in 2009) - 31 years old - 2009 career year ? - Astros may struggle in 2010 Baker ($20) - (325 pts. in 2009) Twins #1 - Twins lineup / Bullpen makes him prime for 15 wins ?
Ummm.....I'm taking Scott Baker at less than half the price for Kershaw? Thank you very much.
I really like Kershaw but man his hype is getting out of control. Baker (or even Wandy) is a total bargain there compared to him I don't even think it's close.
EDIT: Especially when CG is worth five points. Unless Kershaw's makeup does a complete 180 from last year, he'll be lucky to throw one CG. His BB/9 was over 4 last year....how do you expect him to consistently last seven innings let alone nine?
EDIT #2: I say this realizing Baker only threw one CG himself last year. Still though, he'll throw five before Kershaw throws one.

Wandy it is.
Haha....to each their own....I think Baker gets more wins in Minnesota, but it is a toss up for sure. Wandy and Baker both though should go before Kershaw when you consider the bargains.
